EQ Bank: 2.25% Interest Rate

If you don't receive the PC Financial 2.25% rate offer, it is still fine. EQ Bank is currently offering 2.25% everyday interest for its Savings Plus Account.

Some features (good and bad) of the account:

• No minimum balance requirements
• 5 free Interac e-Transfers per month
• Free bill payment (not common for a Savings account)
• Member of CDIC
• You can link it to other banks' account, but no direct deposit
• No debit card
• Not for Quebec residents
• No TFSA
• No joint account

So, If you want, you can enjoy free checks from PC Financial, free email transfer from Tangerine, and 2.25% interest from EQ Bank.  Why do you still need those big banks?

I just opened this EQ Bank account (as EQ Bank said, it only took me around 5 mins). No waiting list needed starting from Jun 1st.
